Temburong Bridge construction involves local young engineers

To facilitate the public to commute to Temburong, Brunei Government through the Ministry of Development has signed a contract with Riverside Swee JV for Temburong Bridge Project Proposal Package CC2 - Marina viaducts.

The guest of honor to witness the signing of the contract was held at the Atria Simpur in the Public Works Department Headquarters, Old Airport, Berakas here is the Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman.

During the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) Ministry of Development, Dato Paduka Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar in his welcoming speech said that the event was held to show the efforts of each organization involved in developing the design for the benefit of the Class IV local and international contractors.

He explained to speed up the construction of the bridge, the project was divided into separate employment contracts including navigation bridge CC3, CC4 Temburong bridge and road, CC1 Mentiri tunnel and flyover land, CC5A traffic control surveillance systems, CC5B power supply and street lighting Where the contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

According to him, the marine activities will be carried out around the Bay of Brunei when construction and other packages at its peak. Therefore, the relationship between the marine and contractors, he said, is essential for ensuring the safety of marine routes.

Clearly, more than 130 staffs are expected to be involved in which 52 staffs are to Central Team and Team CC2. Recruitment of young engineers new local graduation also will be conducted in stages so as Brunei Darussalam has the capacity to meet the required engineering profession today and in the future in this project.

The construction of this bridge is to facilitate 'dual two-lane highway between the Brunei Muara and Temburong along more than 30 kilometers from Main Street Ministry in Brunei-Muara District to Jalan Labu in Temburong.

Construction of the project will be implemented through a package of contracts for which the package will be started within the first few moments of the construction of bridges or viaducts' crossed the Gulf of Brunei along 13.4 kilometers.

The project is expected to take 45 months to complete, which is the main scope of work to build bridges in the Bay of Brunei Brunei starting from navigation routes to navigate the route from the east and from the east to Cape Kerasek in Temburong. It includes the provision of round routes and provision for connection to the island of Pulau Baru-Baru and Berambang.


Construction work for the package CC2 starts on February 2. Accordingly, the Ministry of Development also announced that Jetty Sejampang, Kampung Sungai Besar is included in the project site and it will be temporarily closed during the construction period.
